Bahrain, Syria Strengthen Ties on Emergency and Disaster Response

Bahrain’s Interior Minister and Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, welcomed Dr. Ahmed Qazziz, Syria’s Assistant Minister of Emergency Affairs and Disaster Management, during an official visit aimed at boosting cooperation in crisis response.

Also present at the meeting was Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security and Chairman of Bahrain’s National Civil Emergency Management Committee.

General Shaikh Rashid highlighted the importance of this visit in strengthening the brotherly relationship between Bahrain and Syria, especially in the areas of emergency preparedness and disaster management. He emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of communities is not just a government duty but a humanitarian responsibility that calls for collaboration and shared commitment.

The minister stressed the need to share expertise, adopt proactive measures, and build stronger national capabilities to effectively respond to crises and protect lives. He also wished Dr. Qazziz and his accompanying delegation a successful and productive visit to Bahrain.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Bahrain’s approach to civil emergency management and explored areas of mutual interest for future collaboration.
