A delegation of ASEAN Bahrain Council visited Bangkok

Manama : The ASEAN Bahrain Council organised a business visit headed by Sheikh Daij bin Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa and board members and a number of businessmen and women. The delegation made their second visit to East Asian countries as part of their efforts to strengthen Bahraini relations with ASEAN countries. Representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, the Economic Development Board and Industry and Thanis Na Songkhla the Thai Ambassador in Bahrain - visited the Bangkok, which included official programme with high-level meetings with a number of officials. Sheikh Daij bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the ASEAN Bahrain Council, said that the distinguished political relations between the two friendly countries and the leadership in Thailand are of great respect and appreciation for the wise leadership in Bahrain, especially His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, had the greatest impact on the success of the visit. These close relations contributed to the opening of many doors and facilitated many things during the successful visit of the Bahraini delegation.  
Sheikh Daij stressed that the importance of the visit stems from the Council’s keenness to achieve the objectives of the Council to strengthen the relations of friendship and understanding between the Bahraini people and the ASEAN peoples and to develop trade, economic, trade, tourism and cultural relations, enhance mutual relations for the benefit of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the ASEAN countries and increase the volume of trade exchange.  To encourage cooperation between the two friendly countries “Bahrain and Thailand” in the fields of economic and trade in particular and to identify the investment opportunities available in the Kingdom, and work to create fruitful economic partnerships between the two sides.
 Noting that these countries collectively represent the sixth largest economy in the world, in addition to the combined population of more than 600 million people, one of the largest markets in the world, and need to pay more attention and focus on the promotion and development of trade relations with ASEAN Countries.  
For her part, Businesswoman Feryal Abdullah Nass, vice Chairman of the ASEAN Bahrain Council, and the Head of the Thailand Committee, said that the visit was positive and very successful in the form of important meetings with officials in Thailand where the Bahraini delegation, which included about 20 people from Members of the Council and business people in the Kingdom with a number of senior officials in the Kingdom of Thailand, headed by the Chairman and members of the Board of Investment of Thailand, Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Thai Parliament, Chairman and members of the Board of the Bangkok Chamber of Commerce.
 “This relationship will benefit Bahrain and Thailand by investing in various sectors in both countries. There has always been a good relationship between Thailand and Bahrain, during our visit to Thailand we were given a warm welcome and we would like to extend the same welcome to Thailand,” said founding member of ASEAN Bahrain Council Nabeel Abdul Rahman Ajoor, Director of Ajoor Co.
 “There are a number of sectors, such as health, industrial, tourism and so on, in the business community which will see investments due to this relationship. The government of Thailand has supported business opportunities between the two countries. They have expressed a lot of appreciation and admiration with regard to our relationship,” said Talal Almannai, a founding member of ASEAN Bahrain Council and CEO of Almannai Projects.
“Kingdom of Bahrain and Kingdom of Thailand maintain strong political, economic and business ties. This steadfast relationship is further strengthened by great visions of leaders of both countries. I was among the delegation of ASEAN Bahrain Council Trade Mission – headed by Sh. Daij Bin Isa Al Khalifa and Mrs Feryal Nass -Vice chairman, to Thailand in April 2018. We met with Committee for Economy of the National Legislative Assembly visited Parliament, Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Commerce. I found Thailand as an investment-friendly country and it offers attractive opportunities for overseas investors. The Trade Mission was a great step in further enhancing the economic ties between two countries. People and officials of Thailand hold Bahrain and our leaders in high regards and are highly cordial,” said Yousuf Salaheddin, a founding member of ASEAN Bahrain Council.
The delegation also visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Ministry of Commerce where they met with senior officials of the ministries.
