The First High Criminal Court of Appeal has postponed a hearing in the appeal of a Bahraini man sentenced to seven years in prison over a fatal road accident that killed two Asian cyclists and injured two others.

According to case records, the incident occurred at dawn on Zallaq Road when the driver became distracted while searching for a cigarette, leading to loss of control of the vehicle.

The car struck four cyclists in a series of collisions. Two died at the scene, while two others sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital. The driver fled the scene following the accident.

The Public Prosecution charged him with multiple offences, including drug possession for personal use, causing death and injury by negligence, fleeing the scene, and driving without due care.
