The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC), through its Jockey Support Fund, continues to support the development of Bahraini jockeys by sponsoring an annual training scholarship programme in cooperation with the British Racing School in the United Kingdom.

Mohamed Ahmed Al Na’ma, Director of the Jockey Support Fund, said the programme’s third consecutive year in the UK reflects the club’s strategy to encourage Bahraini youth participation in horse racing and expand the sport’s talent base. He noted that the initiative supports jockeys across different levels, including trainees and emerging riders, through structured development pathways.

The programme is delivered through the “International Future Jockeys Programme” and the newly introduced “International Professionals Programme,” aimed at enhancing professional standards and competitive performance.

This year’s intake includes trainee jockey Hussein Mohammed Saeed and students Ali Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Karar Khalil Ali, and Louay Mohammed under the Future Jockeys Programme, while the Professionals Programme includes Ibrahim Nader, Hussein Asghar, Hassan Asghar, Qassim Jameel, Ahmed Al-Fahd, and Dhia Al-Saadoun.

Participants were selected based on their performance at the Bahrain Jockey Academy between October 2025 and February 2026.

The programme will run in the United Kingdom from 15 June to 25 July 2026, featuring intensive theoretical and practical training at the British Racing School, where participants will train alongside professional jockeys and gain advanced hands-on experience.
