Africa Makes History with Triple BRAVE CF World Champions

Lohoré, Hwende, and Said Maalem lead historic African surge in MMA

Africa has reached a historic milestone in mixed martial arts as three fighters from the continent simultaneously hold world championship titles in BRAVE Combat Federation, marking a defining moment in the promotion’s global expansion.

The achievement reinforces BRAVE CF’s long-standing vision of becoming a truly international MMA organization, showcasing elite talent from every region. That vision has now culminated in a breakthrough moment for Africa, which has emerged as a powerful force within the promotion’s championship landscape.

Leading the charge is Interim Super Welterweight World Champion Alex Lohoré. Representing a multicultural background linked to Côte d’Ivoire, France, and England, Lohoré captured the interim title at the landmark BRAVE 100 event in November 2025. His victory cemented his position among the division’s top contenders and highlighted the growing global reach of African-rooted fighters competing across multiple regions.

From Southern Africa, Zimbabwe’s Nicholas Hwende continues to build an impressive legacy. A former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion, Hwende made history again at BRAVE CF 105 in May by claiming the undisputed Featherweight World Title. He secured the win with a dramatic fifth-round submission over interim champion Omar Solomanov, becoming one of the few fighters in the promotion to win world titles in two divisions.

In North Africa, Algeria’s Mohamed Said Maalem delivered another landmark moment by capturing the BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight World Championship. He achieved the feat with a comeback stoppage victory over former champion Erko Jun in their rematch at BRAVE CF 106 on June 6. His success also reflects the rising strength of MMA across North Africa and the broader Middle East region, where BRAVE CF has played a key role in talent development.

Together, Lohoré, Hwende, and Said Maalem represent three distinct regions of Africa, united by championship success under the BRAVE CF banner. Their achievements underline the continent’s growing depth in MMA talent and its increasing influence on the global stage.

With three active world champions, Africa is no longer just participating in the BRAVE CF story—it is helping to define it.
