Finance Minister Attends Startup Bahrain–UoB Competition Finale
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, attended the closing ceremony of the Startup Bahrain–University of Bahrain competition, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
Speaking at the event, Shaikh Salman said Bahrain’s achievements in entrepreneurship and startup development reflect the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that national initiatives aimed at strengthening the business environment, encouraging innovation and enhancing productivity have helped create an economy where creativity and talent can flourish. He added that such efforts empower Bahrainis to compete in future industries and contribute to the Kingdom’s continued development.
The minister said the Startup Bahrain competition demonstrates confidence in Bahrain’s greatest resource – its people – highlighting the talent, creativity and ambition of young Bahrainis.
Held at the University of Bahrain, the ceremony brought together ministers, senior officials, academics, entrepreneurs, representatives of partner organisations and participating students.
Shaikh Salman also praised the efforts of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, for supporting programmes that develop national talent and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
He stressed that investing in Bahraini talent remains essential to building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy and supporting sustainable growth.
