Midday Outdoor Work Ban Takes Effect Today

Annual midday outdoor work ban comes into effect today, prohibiting work under direct sunlight from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily until August 31, as part of measures to protect workers from extreme heat.
Authorities have warned that violations will result in strict penalties. Offending employers may face imprisonment of up to three months, fines ranging between BD 500 and BD 1,000 per affected worker, and harsher consequences for repeat offences, including doubled fines and possible temporary suspension of operations.
