Focus policies on enhancing productivity, says Sameer Nass

Manama : Policies that focus on enhancing productivity is a need of the hour, said a top BCCI official yesterday while warning about the consequences of high unemployment rates in the Arab world. 

Speaking during the first plenary session of the 45th Arab Labour Conference being held in Cairo-Egypt, Sameer Nass, the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) said that the unemployment rates in the Arab world have reached 29 per cent in 2017. 

Highlighting the challenges curbing development in the Arab nations, Nass also underlined the importance of scientific research and its pivotal role in the progress of nations.

The BCCI Chairman also hailed the content of the report presented by the Director-General of the Arab Labour Organization, stressing the challenging time the Arab world is currently undergoing and the need for hard work, diligence, and unity. 

The Chairman expressed the support of the Bahrain Chamber to Palestinian employees and employers and their right to run their businesses in the Palestinian land and its capital Jerusalem.

Nass congratulated Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on his re-election and wished Egypt and its people progress, peace, and stability.
