Bahrain to attend Moscow International Quran Competition

Manama : The final ceremony of the 18th International Quran Reciting Competition will be held on Sunday (October 8) in Moscow, Russia.

The 18th edition, which bears the name of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, is organized by the Russian Muftis Council at Crocus City Hall in Moscow. 

On behalf of HM the King, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) Vice Chairman Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Khalifa arrived this evening in Moscow to take part in the final ceremony and deliver a speech on behalf of HM the King.

The Russian Muftis Council named the edition after HM the King, in recognition of his crucial role in serving Islam and Muslims and promoting the Holy Book of Quran. 

It is also an acknowledgment of HM the King’s initiatives to promote Islamic values of tolerance and moderation, the renunciation of intolerance, in addition to fostering amity, peace and human co-existence. 

The Russian Muftis Council extended a token of thanks and gratitude to HM the King for supporting its programmes and projects, acknowledging the royal efforts to bolster fraternal relations binding Russian Muslims and their brethren in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 

The Moscow International Quran Reciting Competition is considered the biggest of its kind in Europe, attracting a large number of participants from all over the world.
