Elyas Abdulredha battled for just over three hours to defeat Ahmed Rizk 6-7(5), 7-6(0), 10-7 in the third and final qualifying round to qualify for the main draw of The Late Ahmed Talal Al Mahoozi Cup Singles at the Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) Ramadan Championship in Juffair.

In the second qualifying match, Abdulla Mohammed Ahmed had a much easier time as he defeated Hamad Abdul A'al 6-0, 6-2 to also advance.

The main round-robin matches get underway tonight from 9.15pm with Yousef Qaed taking on Elyas Abdulredha and Karim Abdulredha playing Khalid Al Mosawi in Group A and in Group B, Hassan Abdulredha plays Abdulla Mohammed Ahmed and Abdul Rahman Janahi takes on Ali Dawani.

The eight pairs split into two groups of four play three matches with the top two qualifying for the semi-finals on Sunday with the final set for July 10. Two other tournament's are being played with The Late Yousif Khalil Almoayyed Cup Men's Doubles concluding with its final round on Sunday.

The six pairs are playing a single round-robin and with one round left to determine the winner, Nilesh Parmar (four wins) lead the standings ahead of the pairings of Mohammed Al Mosawi and Hussain Al Mosawi and Naji Al Samahiji and Ahmed Omran (3 wins each).
The other event is for The Late Majid Al Zayani Cup Super Doubles round-robin being completed last night with the 12 pairs being split into two groups of six playing round-robin, with the top two in each qualifying for the semi-finals on July 4 with the final scheduled for July 9.

Aside from the tennis, a backgammon and Kout Bo6 competition is also taking place during Ramadan.
