Muharraq Basketball Team have qualified for the final of the basketball tournament in the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and eighth Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8), following a 75-70 victory over Al Najma at the Bahrain Basketball Association court in Umm Al Hassam.
Both teams put up good performances with the scores close throughout the four quarters of the match.

This win for Muharraq sets up a final clash against Manama tomorrow night which will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity

Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The supreme organising committee announced that it had prepared a programme that will accompany the match, including an awarding ceremony for the winners and runners-up who will be honoured by Shaikh Nasser after the match.

HH Shaikh Nasser Media and Information Centre Head and Nasser 8 Supreme Organising Committee Chairman Tawfeeq Al Salehy hailed the attendance of Shaikh Nasser and support to the youth and sports sector in Bahrain.

He added cash prizes allocated for spectators sponsored by CrediMax had been increased to BD500 and be divided among ten lucky winners. Meanwhile, Batelco Gunners United have qualified for Friday's final of the Nasser 8 football at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town after beating Al-Nuwayef 4-3 and will meet defending champions Al Fakhar who qualified after a 2-1 win over former champions Victorious.

Shaikh Nasser congratulated both teams on qualifying for the final and putting on good performances, He also approved the cash prizes allocated for the champions of the football competition that will be announced later and instructed the organising of the final match ceremony at Sofitel Hotel, Zallaq on Saturday, with the awarding of prizes to the winners, runners-up, referees and sponsors of Nasser 8.

Attending part of the Batelco Gunners United and Al Nuwayef match was HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the son of the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The presence of Shaikh Mohammed came as part of his support to the championship and motivate the participating teams to demonstrate their best performances.
