Bahrain welcomes toughened sanctions on North Korea
Manama : Bahrain has welcomed the international Security Council’s Decision 2321, imposing a series of sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (Nort Korea) following its latest nuclear test.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that unanimously issuing this decision reflects the seriousness of the international community to take strict measures in response to provocative and illegal nuclear activities that threaten regional and international security and peace.
"As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the decision by the Security Council is an important step towards bolstering efforts aimed at preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction around the world, it stresses the importance of the commitment of all States to implement the new measures, in addition to other obligations under the relevant resolutions," the statement said.
