Juffair locals allege flesh trade in vicinity Irks
Luxurious villas in posh residential areas, especially in Juffair, are turned into brothels by Asian youngsters, residents in the area have alleged. The locals claimed these villas are rented out to expats or Arab youngsters on a per-night basis “to hold parties or get-togethers, during which flesh trade takes place.”
Residents also alleged they have seen “call girls” being repeatedly brought to these villas. They said the girls come with the help of some organisers in the Island or as independent escorts.
“Many come independently and after a few days’ stay at the villas, they vanish into thin air. Taxi drivers are the main contact points,” a source told DT News.
People who reside in these areas, especially families, raised concerns over “illegal flesh trade” in the neighbourhood.
“We are done with such kinds of practices, that too during this Holy Month when even non-Muslims fast,” one of the Bahraini local residents, Talaal Asfoor, said.
“As long as neighbours are not disturbed, parties can go on till any time. They should not create nuisance for others and should also stay away from illegal activities,” he added. Al Asfoor alleged that girls arrive in “posh cars” by around 11pm and leave by 3am, so that the residents don’t recognise and follow them.
Another resident Jeevan Mendis alleged, “I was outside my house, parking my car, late at night, when a guy in shorts and a white girl came out of the building opposite to mine and started shouting at each other. I tried to avoid them and asked them to move away, but they both started verbally abusing me.”
While public places have a time restriction of up to 2am even for sale of liquor, there are no restrictions on private parties (non-Ramadan days), according to the neighbours.
Sources informed such incidents happen as hotels don’t allow illegal activities and residential villas are much cheaper.
They said, “Asian escorts have strong networks among call girls including those from educated class and foreigners.”
“The women in this business share their earnings on commission basis with these escorts so that they are called the next time. The letting agency/property owners refuse to accept these allegations about their guests,” a source told DT News, on condition of anonymity.
“Most homeowners, who rent their villas while on holidays, are completely unaware of what’s happening in their properties. We don’t know who to approach for help,” Mendis complained.
