State-of-the-art school to open next year

ManamaThe construction work at the Malkiya Primary/Intermediate Girls’ School is nearing completion and the new school will open in 2017-2018, according to Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi.

The state-of-the-art BD 4.5 million-school comprises of a  four-storeyed building, constructed on an area of 16,626 square metres. It comprises 36 classrooms, and has the capacity to accommodate 1200 students. 

The school’s main building features a number of lifts, central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, as well as environment-friendly energy-conserving specifications. It also includes multi-purpose laboratories, cafeteria, library, offices for the teaching and administrative faculty, sports hall and other service facilities.

“The project is within the Government Action Plan to build 10 new schools with modern specifications across the Kingdom’s governorates,” he said.

While inspecting the project site, the Minister affirmed that the new educational facility is in line with the Education Ministry’s strategic plan aiming to enhance the quality of education in government schools. “The new schools are constructed in accordance with the initiatives of the National Project for the Development of Education and Training,” he added.
