Bahraini woman jailed for defaming HM King
Manama : A Bahraini woman accused of defaming HM the King has been jailed for one year. The woman is said to have posted insulting comments on Twitter against HM the King. She was arrested based on a tip-off to the authorities.
The woman’s Twitter account was investigated by the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security.
She had been charged with posting tendentious comments in order to destabilise the public peace in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
