Bahraini diplomat receives honorary degree in Pakistan

ManamaThe Consul General of Bahrain in Karachi, Ebrahim Ahmed Al Hejazi was conferred with a honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy yesterday.

A special Convocation of the Indus University was held at the Governor’s House in the Pakistani City.

According to Pakistani media, Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan conferred the honorary degree on Al Hejazi in view of his services towards improvement of basic infrastructure and relief work during natural calamities in the province of Sindh.

“It was pointed out that during the floods in 2010 and 2011, the prompt supply of relief items from Bahrain very much helped the flood affected. Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan also recounted the Consul General of the Kingdom towards promotion of economic, cultural and social activities in the province. He hoped that the conferment of the honorary degree would help further improve the ties of Pakistan and Bahrain,” Pakistan Observer reported. 

The report quoted him as saying that “ he would continue to play his role for improving further relations between the two countries.”

Al Hejazi thanked Governor of Sindh and Indus University for the award. The ceremony was attended by GCC diplomats, senior officials and dignitaries.
