Bahrain, Tajikistan Discuss Parliamentary Cooperation
A Bahraini parliamentary delegation participating in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Standing Committee on Social and Cultural Affairs met with a delegation from Tajikistan to discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Bahraini delegation was led by MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, representing Bahrain as the current holder of the APA presidency. The Tajik delegation was headed by Mavsuma Muini, Deputy Chairwoman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Assembly of Representatives) of the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of Tajikistan and head of her country’s delegation to the APA.
The two sides discussed strengthening coordination and communication between their legislative institutions, as well as cooperation in the economic and cultural fields.
They also highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting bilateral relations and exchanging legislative expertise.
The Bahraini delegation included Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul, Member of the Shura Council; MP Bader Saleh Al Tamimi; and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives and Secretary General of the Parliamentary Delegation’s Executive Committee.
