HRH Crown Prince Highlights Gulf Food Security
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with His Excellency Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the heads of GCC delegations participating in the 38th Meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security, at Gudaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness reiterated Bahrain's continued commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to supporting greater GCC cooperation across all sectors.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening integrated partnerships among GCC states to advance interstate development, in line with the visions of the leaders of the GCC member states.
During the meeting, the heads of delegations conveyed the greetings of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
In turn, His Royal Highness extended the greetings of HM the King to Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries.
His Royal Highness outlined his support for the meetings and that they would play an important role and lead to enhanced GCC cooperation across agriculture and food security, in line with shared goals and aspirations.
His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of continuing to improve and strengthen food security by developing the efficiency of supply chains to ensure the sustainable flow of goods and products. His Royal Highness noted he importance of Gulf integration and enhanced international partnerships towards these efforts and developing their readiness to address developments and challenges.
His Royal Highness also commended the role of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security and its contributions to strengthening cooperation and joint coordination among GCC countries in the agricultural and food sectors.
For their part, the Secretary General of the GCC and the heads of GCC delegations participating in the 38th Meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness for his commitment to further advancing joint Gulf cooperation.
They concluded by wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, HE Eng Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, along with senior officials, were also in attendance.
The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the meeting as part of its presidency of the 46th Session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) “Bahrain Summit”.
