The Court of Cassation upheld a 10-year prison sentence and a BD5,000 fine against an Asian man convicted of helping a drug trafficker distribute narcotics in exchange for methamphetamine for personal use.
The court also ordered the confiscation of the seized drugs and his permanent deportation after serving his sentence. Investigators recovered methamphetamine, marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids, drug paraphernalia and financial records linking the defendants to trafficking activities. The court ruled that witness testimony, confessions, forensic evidence and mobile phone records were sufficient to uphold the conviction.
