Putin orders halt in strikes on Kyiv for Trump envoys' visit

MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a three-day halt in strikes on Kyiv for the visit of US President Donald Trump's envoys, the Kremlin announced Saturday.
The pause was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who stated that Putin issued the directive in his role as commander in chief.
Peskov specified that Russian forces were ordered not to strike the Ukrainian capital for three days, beginning from midnight tonight.
The announcement was reported by state news agency TASS as US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff prepared to travel from Moscow to Kyiv.
