Saudi, Pakistan Defence Chiefs Discuss Houthi Attacks
Riyadh meeting focuses on Makkah and attacks on Saudi civilian and economic facilities
Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, in Riyadh to discuss recent attacks by the Houthi militia targeting Makkah and civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia.
The two officials reviewed the security situation and commended the outcomes of a meeting of the chiefs of staff of the states participating in the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.
They stressed the need to continue joint efforts to confront the attacks in line with the agreement and strengthen coordination among the participating countries.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban, Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, and Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
Several Pakistani officials also attended the meeting.
