Texas: SpaceX has signed a multi-year contract with artificial intelligence startup Reflection AI, valued at approximately $1.8 billion per year.
This agreement allows the startup to access capacity at SpaceX’s Colossus 2 data center in Memphis, starting July 1. Once fully operational, Reflection AI will pay SpaceX’s AI subsidiary $150 million per month through late 2029.
This deal confirms SpaceX’s evolving business model as a provider of AI computing power, following similar contracts with Anthropic and Google earlier this year. As part of the arrangement, SpaceX will provide access to Nvidia’s high-performance GB300 processors.
Based in New York, Reflection AI was founded in 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers Misha Laskin and Ioannis Antonoglou.
The startup is developing an ‘open’ AI model that can be downloaded and modified, setting it apart from closed systems like ChatGPT. Both companies retain the right to terminate the agreement with 90 days' notice.
