Two More Arrested Over Alleged White House UFC Attack Plot

Washington: Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to attack a UFC event hosted by President Donald Trump at the White House earlier this month, bringing the number of people facing federal charges to seven.

Authorities say the plan was disrupted days before the June 14 event on the White House South Lawn. Investigators allege members of the group hoped to destabilise the US government and discussed using explosive-laden drones and firearms to target the gathering.

The latest arrests involved men from Washington state and Missouri, both charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Court documents allege the suspects communicated about acquiring drones, weapons and other equipment, while investigators recovered firearms and reviewed encrypted messages discussing maps, escape routes and operational plans.

The investigation began after the mother of one suspect alerted police over concerns about her son's firearms purchases and online activity. Federal authorities say the group included around 20 participants who shared extremist anti-government views.

Officials said the alleged plot was stopped before it could be carried out, and court records suggest some of the equipment discussed by the group had not yet been obtained when arrests were made. The case remains under investigation.
