GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al Budaiwi visited the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Intellectual Property Training Center and the GCC Emergency Management Center in Kuwait, reviewing their operations and ongoing initiatives.

According to a statement from the GCC General Secretariat, Al Budaiwi was briefed at the Intellectual Property office on efforts to strengthen the intellectual property system across member states. These efforts aim to support innovation and the knowledge-based economy, protect intellectual property rights, and enhance an enabling environment for creativity, research, and development in the Gulf region.

He also visited the GCC Emergency Management Center, where staff briefed him on its preparedness plans and coordination mechanisms among GCC countries to respond to emergencies and crises. The briefing highlighted the center’s role in strengthening Gulf-wide readiness and joint coordination.

The statement said the visits are part of the General Secretariat’s efforts to monitor workflow and review programs implemented by its affiliated bodies.

During his meetings with staff, Al Budaiwi reaffirmed that the GCC General Secretariat strongly emphasizes supporting its agencies and empowering them to perform efficiently, praising their ongoing efforts to advance joint Gulf cooperation.
