Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan awarded the State Medal, Türkiye’s highest honor, to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in recognition of his role in strengthening bilateral relations between Türkiye and Algeria.
In his remarks, Erdoğan said the award reflects appreciation for President Tebboune’s “invaluable contributions” to enhancing cooperation and advancing shared interests between the two nations. He praised Tebboune’s leadership and commitment, saying it helped elevate relations to their current distinguished level.
Erdoğan expressed confidence that the medal would serve as a lasting symbol of the “strong brotherhood” between the two countries. He also noted his appreciation after receiving the Ashur Medal in return, describing the exchange as a gesture of mutual respect and friendship.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of continued cooperation and diplomatic ties between Ankara and Algiers.
