Manama--

Nearly 40 participants turned up for the first of two nights of testing on Friday at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), in preparation for this year’s Burnout Ramadan Festival.
Drivers from around the Gulf showcased their burnout skills while another 17 signed on as passengers to get into one of the participating cars.

Scores of fans also turned up for the event, which will be followed by another night of testing this Friday.
The Burnout Ramadan Festival officially gets underway on June 19 with the first round of action with further rounds on June 26, July 3 and July 10.
At each meeting, drivers will be able to earn points which will count towards their season standings, and at the end of the campaign, determine this year’s champion.

The festival is open to motorsport enthusiasts of all skill levels and offers a unique kind of thrill including the sight of rising white smoke and the smell of burning rubber.
Participants will battle it out with one another with the aim of putting on their finest display of burnout while gracefully maneouvring a pre-determined course.

Friday’s testing will be held between 7pm and 10pm at BIC’s car park number six.
Entrants must meet specific eligibility criteria to take part and pay an entry fee of BD7 per driver. Those wishing to get a taste of all of the action as passengers may do so for a fee of BD4.
Spectators will be able to watch all the action on each of the Burnout Nights free of charge, however, there will also be a VIP area from where fans can enjoy all the action from a special stand. Entrance to the VIP area parking is BD10 per car.
