As Ukrainian Strikes Deepen Russia's Fuel Shortages, Putin Says

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged that Ukraine's repeated attacks on Russian energy infrastructure have caused fuel shortages in parts of the country, although he said the situation remained under control.

Speaking in comments published by the Kremlin on Sunday, Putin said Ukrainian strikes on energy facilities were creating 'a certain shortage' of fuel and that Russia's priority was to strengthen air defences and secure supplies, particularly to the annexed Crimean peninsula.

The remarks came after authorities in Crimea declared a state of emergency due to fuel shortages and power disruptions linked to attacks on logistics networks and oil facilities.
