The Bahrain Tennis Federation Women’s Committee participated in a UTR-sanctioned women’s singles tournament hosted by Strategy Academy in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with the Saudi Tennis Federation, as part of its efforts to provide Bahraini players with greater international competitive exposure.

Led by Women’s Committee chair Jamila Al-Nashaba, the Bahraini delegation included Maryam Adel, Gharam Isa, Sharifa Al Ghurair, Aisha Al Fadhel, Samar Khalid and Moudhi Mohammed. The tournament featured players from clubs and academies across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

Gharam Isa progressed to the placement qualification round before losing 6-4 to Saudi Arabia’s Aisha Noor Nadira, who advanced to the semi-finals. Isa also recorded a 6-3 victory over Jordan’s Dana Mohammed before later losing a closely contested tie-break match to Egypt’s Marleen.

Meanwhile, Aisha Al Fadhel and Maryam Adel both reached the quarter-finals. Adel was narrowly beaten 6-4 by Kuwait’s Haya Al Hashmi, while Al Fadhel also claimed a victory over Saudi Arabia’s Salma Al Ghamdi during the tournament.

Al-Nashaba praised the support of Bahrain Tennis Federation president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, saying participation in such events helps develop the technical and competitive abilities of Bahraini players and forms part of the federation’s strategy to strengthen women’s tennis.
