Bahrain and Egypt Reaffirm Strategic Partnership During Parliamentary Meeting in Cairo

Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain's Shura Council, met with Counsellor Essam El Din Farid, Speaker of the Egyptian Senate, on the sidelines of the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments in Cairo, where both sides reaffirmed the strength of Bahraini-Egyptian relations and their commitment to expanding parliamentary cooperation.
Al Saleh highlighted the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Egypt, describing them as a model of strategic partnership and constructive cooperation that continues to grow across various sectors.
He attributed the continued progress in bilateral relations to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, as well as the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing cooperation that serves the interests and prosperity of both nations.
The meeting was attended by Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, Bahrain's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, along with Shura Council members Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawda and Dr. Ebtesam Mohammed Saleh Al Dallal.
The Shura Chairman praised the growing cooperation between Bahrain's Shura Council and the Egyptian Senate, noting that the exchange of parliamentary visits, expertise, and legislative experience has strengthened institutional collaboration and contributed to enhancing parliamentary performance.
He also stressed the importance of continued coordination at regional and international parliamentary forums, saying such cooperation reinforces parliamentary diplomacy and supports joint Arab efforts in addressing regional challenges.
Al Saleh commended Egypt's longstanding role in promoting Arab security and stability, supporting peace initiatives, and defending Arab causes, highlighting the country's influential position at both the regional and international levels.
For his part, Counsellor Essam El Din Farid reaffirmed Egypt's unwavering support for Bahrain in the face of any threat to its security, stability, or territorial integrity. He emphasised that the security of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states is closely linked to Egypt's national and Arab security.
The Egyptian Senate Speaker expressed pride in the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation through greater coordination and the exchange of expertise.
He also expressed hope for increased Bahraini investment in Egypt and the expansion of bilateral trade, citing the country's promising economic opportunities.
Farid praised the active participation of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation in Arab and international parliamentary forums and commended the Kingdom's efforts to promote peace, dialogue, coexistence, and tolerance, describing Bahrain as an important contributor to regional and international security, stability, and sustainable development.
