Pink hues hog BFH towers in Oct
Extending support to Bahrain Cancer society’s “Manama the Pink City,” an awareness campaign on breast cancer, both of the 52-storey office towers at Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) were lit up in pink during October. The Society observed October as the national breast cancer awareness month.
The campaign was targeting every woman in the Kingdom of Bahrain to increase public awareness about breast cancer, ways to treat it, its main causes and means of combating it.
As part of the campaign, Bahrain Cancer Society organised several educational lectures throughout the Kingdom. It focused on encouraging women to conduct early cancer detection tests as early diagnosis. They also organised a “Challenge Cancer” walkathon on October 30 at Dohat Arad from 5.30pm to 8.00pm.
Angus Campbell, the CEO of BFH, said: “In lighting up both of the office towers in the campaign’s signature pink, we highlighted the importance of spreading awareness of breast cancer. As an iconic landmark of the Kingdom, we are keen to support our community in as many ways as we can.”
Stressing the importance of conducting health education programmes, he pointed that BFH was keen to participate in community initiatives that promote social awareness of preventative measures.
