Vets Honoured for Public Health Role
Veterinarians in Bahrain have been honoured for their crucial role in safeguarding public health, animal welfare, and food safety.
Marking World Veterinary Day, observed on the last Saturday of April, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture highlighted the profession’s behind-the-scenes contribution to the Kingdom’s health and food systems.
Veterinarians not only treat animals but also monitor diseases, prevent outbreaks, and ensure the safety of food products before they reach consumers. Their work plays a key role in detecting and controlling animal-borne diseases, helping reduce risks to human health.
