Manama Central Market Upgrade Plans Reviewed
A senior municipal delegation carried out a field visit to the Manama Central Market to assess development needs and explore ways to improve facilities and overall operational efficiency.
The visit was attended by the Chairman of the Capital Trustees Board, Engineer Saleh Taher Tarada, and the Director General of the Capital Municipality, Engineer Alia Youssef Yahya, along with council members and officials.
Engineer Tarada stressed the importance of continuously upgrading central markets in the Capital Governorate to enhance services for both traders and consumers.
He said the ongoing maintenance and development work is part of a comprehensive plan aimed at modernising infrastructure, improving efficiency, and ensuring long-term sustainability of operations within the market.
Engineer Alia Youssef Yahya reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to implementing regular maintenance programmes to strengthen operational readiness and improve service quality for both vendors and visitors.
She said the approach focuses on upgrading infrastructure in coordination with relevant authorities to meet evolving needs.
Development works at the Manama Central Market this year include upgrading surrounding road networks, improving internal streets and pavements, ensuring electrical safety, and carrying out preventive maintenance on air-conditioning systems.
