“The current regional environment reinforces the importance of flexible logistics systems and collective preparedness" - Eman Ahmed Al Dosari

As part of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the GCC, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Eman Ahmed Al Dosari chaired the 48th preparatory meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of Industry in the Gulf Cooperation Council, held via video conference with participation from GCC member states.

Al Dosari stressed the importance of strengthening joint coordination in strategic industrial sectors to enhance the GCC’s ability to respond to regional developments and achieve sustainable development. She highlighted the impact of ongoing regional tensions, including threats to maritime security and the Strait of Hormuz, noting their potential to disrupt global trade and undermine decades of Gulf industrial and economic progress.

She praised GCC states for effectively managing recent challenges by activating alternative logistics routes and strengthening supply chain resilience to ensure the continued flow of goods and stability of local markets. She also commended the roles of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman in facilitating cross-border trade and enhancing regional connectivity.

The meeting discussed key agenda items, including finalizing the definition of GCC national products, reviewing localization standards across industrial sectors, strengthening collective protection for industrial goods, and exploring joint industrial investment opportunities in vital sectors.
