ICRF Thirst-Quenchers continue charitable initiatives

TDT | Manama

The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) has distributed bottled water, fruits, and biscuits, as well as lunch boxes of biriyani, to around 140 workers as part of Eid Al Adha celebrations. The donations were the fourth in a series distributed at the Amazon Askar substation project, said the ICRF.

ICRF volunteers have also distributed face masks and anti-bacterial soaps, along with flyers that explain the measures that can be followed to stay safe during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Free pre-paid sim cards, sponsored by STC, were also distributed to all workers.

Through such activities, ICRF aims to teach workers on the importance of drinking water and encourage them on maintaining their health during the summer.  The ICRF Thirst-Quenchers team intends to continue this weekly event until the end of August in various worksites, as these workers are among the most affected as they toil under the summer heat.

ICRF chairman Aruldas Thomas, ICRF Thirst-Quenchers convenor Sudheer Thirunilath, ICRF volunteers Clifford Correa, Nasser Manjeri, Muralikrishnan, Sunil Kumar, and Pavithran Neeleswaram, as well as STC marketing manager Sreelesh Pawar, were present at the distribution yesterday.
