Medical training initiative unveiled

ManamaA national initiative to train unemployed Bahraini doctors and integrate them into the labour market has been unveiled. The planned scheme will be carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Labour and Social Development Ministry, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the public and private health institutions. 

The plan followed the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to hone the skills of young Bahrainis and ensure them training opportunities and job vacancies. Supreme Council for Health (SCH) Chairman Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa announced the national initiative as he chaired coordination meeting at the SCH headquarters. The session was attended by Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Tamkeen Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Janahi, Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Walid Al-Manea, National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma and other officials. 

Lt.-Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa said that the initiative is part of the implementation of the National Health Plan (2016-2025).
