BCCI role vital in economy: PM

ManamaHis Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received the new Board of Directors of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) headed by Chairman Samir Abdullah Nass at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday. 

HRH Prime Minister praised the role of BCCI in bringing together all employees in the trade and industry sectors, stressing the chamber’s vital economic role in the trade momentum. He urged the new board to work for the interest of the traders so as to preserve the chamber’s historic status and promote the commercial march.

HRH the Prime Minister congratulated the BCCI new board Chairman and members, wishing them success. HRH Premier affirmed support to them, voicing confidence in their ability to serve the trade and industry sectors and also lauded the role of the private sector in fast-tracking development and boosting competitiveness of the national economy. 

Underling the government’s unwavering support to it to enhance its participation in mapping out future development schemes and economic policies, HRH Premier pointed out that the current economic challenges increase responsibilities to promote development and competitiveness of the national economy in attracting investments. HRH Premier also underlined the government’s keenness to support BCCI and reinforce its pioneering role in serving the business sector.

The BCCI new Board of Directors hailed the government’s unlimited support and invited HRH the Prime Minister to pay a visit to BCCI which, they said, will serve as an incentive to usher in a new era of work. They requested HRH the Premier to delay the commercial fees. Affirming support to the trade sector, HRH the Prime Minister directed the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism to hold discussions with BCCI Board of Directors to find a suitable formula for the commercial fees.

The new Board of Directors expressed thanks and respect to HRH the Premier for his support to the chamber, commending his constant directives to boost coordination between the government and BCCI in serving the commercial sector.
