Four men lose appeal in attacking ex-MP’s car case

ManamaFour defendants accused of attacking the vehicle of a former MP have lost their appeal in the case. The appellants were earlier handed down 10 years in prison each.

According to the case, the four men reportedly carried out a firebomb assault against the former MP, Mohammed Khalid’s vehicle on August 3 two years ago.

The total number of the attackers was 25, but detectives uncovered the identity of only four, according to court files.

It’s said that the culprits set tyres ablaze in the area of A’ali before pelting the MP’s car with firebombs while he was passing by the area.

One of the defendants has confirmed his involvement in the incident during interrogation.

He revealed that his three co-defendants were also involved in the incident.

The Public Prosecution charged the four men with putting lives and properties at risk, participating in an illegal gathering, possessing firebombs and damaging the car of the former MP.
