Premier stresses for revitalising economy

ManamaPrime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday stressed the importance of pushing institutional cooperation forward to revitalise the economy, and urged for a national effort to overcome economic challenges.

According to him, the rapidly unfolding developments cast their shadow on the region. “It requires stepping up cooperation at all levels to overcome their repercussions.”

Prince Khalifa made the remarks in the presence of a number of State officials at Gudaibiya Palace while reviewing with them a host of regional and global issues.

Commenting on terrorism, the Premier urged concerted efforts to counter all attempts to undermine the social fabric, stressing overt rejection of conspiracies to subvert national security or those behind them.

HRH Premier emphasised that terrorism is a continuum that begins in a region. “It spreads unless there is no actual international effort to snuff out it at the levels of ideology, support and funding,” he commented.

The Premier also warned against attempts by some sides to spread chaos in some countries in a bid to serve their goals. “The region’s security and stability are targeted. We require unified stances to counter such attempts and move forward,” the Premier added.
