Cartoon characters reborn in Balloon Man’s hands

ManamaTime Edie, from Scotland, popularly known as “Pop the Balloon Man,” has charmed audiences across the globe for more than three decades, especially children with his amazing and astounding artistic mastery in making cartoon characters out of balloons.

Tim Edie has been entertaining children from different parts of the world at the entertainment arena of BIC at Formula One.

“This is my last day in Bahrain.  I have been invited to Bahrain for the past nine years, and I love what I do.  I have immense satisfaction after bringing smiles to thousands of children at Bahrain,” says the Balloon Man.  After three consecutive days in Bahrain, Edie had changed thousands of balloons to characters that made children smile at him. He said one of the best things about his job is the interaction with children while turning balloons into comic cartoon characters and almost any object each child prefers. In addition to his Balloon show, pop does a varied range of other performances too, such as Bubblology, close-up magic and Puppeteering. He also broadens his educational skills and finds time to teach kids on balloon modelling, and bubble science.

It only takes an average of two minutes for him to complete a masterpiece out of balloons, making him a famous figure in balloon sculpting not only in Scotland, where he lives, but around the world as well. His exceptional skill coupled with humour sense makes him endear to all.

“I can do Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Garfield, Tigger and many others,” he explains.

In addition, he can also create flowers, spiders, octopus, heart, fish, and other objects at a very short time to everyone’s surprise.

Even adults want to own one of his balloon sculptures, but he only gives them to little children for free.

“This is my first time to see a man with such skillset and talent. His unparalleled ability has amazed me,” beams Jasim, who witnessed Tim working on balloons. The Balloon Man also reveals that he likes Bahrain a lot and would appreciate the cooperation and love of the people, but what disturbs him  is the changes in the Manama area, he wants people to preserve the culture and traditions, not with the cityscapes.
