Bahrain slams Iranian statements as breach of sovereignty

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly rejected recent statements by the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, describing them as blatant interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs and a clear violation of sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in the domestic matters of states.
The Ministry dismissed Iranian claims as lacking credibility, stressing that attempts to portray Bahrain’s legal and sovereign procedures as human rights violations constitute unacceptable politicisation and a deliberate distortion of facts.
It noted that Bahrain has been monitoring what it described as Iran’s continued conduct over decades, reiterating that such interference undermines regional security and stability and constitutes a flagrant breach of international law and good-neighbourliness principles.
The Ministry reaffirmed the need for Iran to adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter, urging it to cease escalatory policies and irresponsible statements, respect state sovereignty, and refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.
