Bahrain Airspace Closure Disrupts Flights

The Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has announced that, due to the closure of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s airspace and airspace over several countries in the region amid current developments, air traffic at Bahrain International Airport may be affected.

The authority stated that a number of arriving and departing flights could be diverted, cancelled, or rescheduled as a result of the situation.

Civil Aviation Affairs confirmed that relevant authorities are closely monitoring developments and coordinating with airlines and regional and international bodies to ensure that precautionary measures are implemented in line with the highest safety and security standards. It stressed that safety remains the top priority under all circumstances.

Passengers are strongly advised to contact their respective airlines directly to check the latest updates and available rebooking options before heading to the airport, in order to avoid delays or inconvenience.

The authority added that it will continue to provide updates to the public through its official communication channels as developments unfold.
