Bomb hoax: Nine suspects in the dock
The High Criminal Court has started hearing the case of nine defendants implicated in a bomb hoax case.
The Bahraini suspects allegedly placed a fake bomb in Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway on December 27, 2014.
They placed they device near burning tyres, and it was initially thought it was a real bomb. However, after examination, it turned out to be a fake explosive, according to court files.
Only three of the defendants are in police custody as the rest are still at large.
All the suspects have been charged with arson, possessing firebombs with the intention of putting lives and properties in danger.
