Interior Minister Visits Southern Bahrain Families, Highlights Community Values and National Identity

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen community partnership and maintain direct communication with citizens, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who also heads the ministerial follow-up committee for the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Strengthen Citizenship Values, visited several family gatherings today in the Southern Governorate.

His visit included stops at the family majlises of Al-Kaabi, Al-Buainain in Askar, and Al-Rumaihi and Al-Fadhala in Jau, where he met with local elders and community members. Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa and several Ministry officials were also in attendance.

During the visits, the Minister conveyed warm greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised the people of Askar and Jau for their strong sense of national identity, commitment to Bahrain’s authentic traditions, and their responsible role in maintaining public order—especially important in a time when young people are exposed to various global cultures through technology.

Minister Rashid also thanked the Southern Governor for his dedication to the welfare of the region.

In return, residents expressed their pride in preserving the customs passed down through generations and emphasized their responsibility in instilling these values in their children. They expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for encouraging the preservation of Bahrain’s traditions and moral values, especially through his inclusive royal majlis gatherings, which reflect his closeness to the people.

They also praised the ongoing support and visits from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and acknowledged the government’s commitment to development projects and public services that benefit the community.

The meeting concluded with residents thanking the Minister of Interior for his continued engagement and willingness to listen to citizens’ ideas and suggestions. They also commended the Southern Governor’s role in promoting community partnership and enhancing social safety and unity.
