Brigadier-General Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi, Director-General of Civil Defence in Bahrain, has been re-elected as Vice-President of the Executive Council of the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) for a second term.

The election took place during the ICDO's 58th Executive Council session and an extraordinary General Assembly meeting held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Brigadier-General Al Kubaisi said he was deeply proud of the renewed trust placed in him, describing the role as a reflection of the international community’s confidence in Bahrain’s contributions to civil defence. He thanked Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa for his strong support and acknowledged the continued guidance of Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan.

“This support has been key in strengthening Bahrain’s civil protection systems and aligning them with top global standards,” he said.

During the meetings, member states discussed ongoing projects, reviewed progress reports, and elected a new Secretary-General for the ICDO.

On the sidelines, Brigadier-General Al Kubaisi also held bilateral discussions with emergency affairs ministers from Russia and Azerbaijan. They explored opportunities for cooperation and sharing of expertise to enhance civil defence systems and emergency preparedness in their respective countries.
