Netanyahu’s heated UN Address Draws Walkout and Criticism

Geneva: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a heated address to the UN General Assembly, supporting Israel's military actions while condemning countries and political figures he accuses of opposing Israel. As he took the podium for his remarks, dozens of diplomats walked out.

Netanyahu harshly condemned Iran, calling it a grave threat to Israel and claimed that Israeli military actions prevented Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. He also supported Israel's conduct in Gaza, rejecting claims of genocide.

Turkey has denied Netanyahu's charges.

Netanyahu also chastised New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani for allegedly taking anti-Israel and anti-Jewish stances. Mamdani denied the charges and condemned Netanyahu's administration for its actions in Gaza. The conversation highlighted growing disagreements about Israel's policy and the Gaza conflict.

Netanyahu's speech came amid ongoing international criticism of Israel's military campaign in Gaza, as well as increasing diplomatic pressure on the situation. Protests were also conducted outside the United Nations headquarters. The address highlighted the growing rift between Israel and numerous countries over the war, while Netanyahu insisted that Israel's military operations were required for national security.
