Muharraq and Manama will renew their rivalry in the Bahrain Basketball Super Cup on October 23, with the season-opening showdown scheduled for 7pm at the Bahrain Basketball Association Arena in Um Al Hassam.

It will be a repeat of last year’s encounter, when the Red Wolves prevailed 76-71 to lift the trophy.

That victory proved the first step towards a historic domestic treble, with German coach Peter Schomers later guiding Muharraq to the Khalifa bin Salman Cup and a second straight Zain Bahrain Basketball League title.

Manama were their closest challengers throughout the campaign. Under Bahraini coach Salman Ramadhan, the capital club finished runners-up in both competitions, losing 80-73 in the cup final before falling 3-1 in the league championship series.

Their latest meeting will provide an early test as the 2026-27 season gets underway.

Under the regulations for the October clash, each team can register up to three foreign players, although only one will be permitted on court at any given time.

They must also field two Under-23 players, born in 2003 or later, for a combined minimum of 10 minutes during the game.
