HH Shaikh Khalid patronises 19th graduation ceremony of University of Technology Bahrain

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, lauded the University of Technology Bahrain’s achievements and commitment to providing a conducive educational and sports environment for students.

“The achievements of the University of Technology Bahrain are in fact contributions and initiatives to develop Bahraini youth and create an advanced educational and sports environment to provide them with the necessary skills, enabling them to play an effective role in the economies of the Kingdom and the region,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.

His Highness made the statements as he delivered a speech at the UTB’s 19th graduation ceremony held yesterday at the Al Dana Amphitheatre under his patronage.

Present in the event were His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Cabinet Affairs Ministry’s Undersecretary and BOC Vice-President, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Education Minister, Dr. Diana Al Jahrami, Higher Education Council Secretary-General, Hesham Al Rayes, GFH Financial Group’s CEO and UTB Board of Directors Chairman, Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, BOC Secretary-General, and Dr. Hasan Al Mulla, UTB President, in addition to dignitaries, graduates’ families and faculty members, attended the ceremony.

HH Shaikh Khalid expressed thanks and appreciation to UTB board of directors and officials, wishing the graduates continued success.

Achievers honoured

During the ceremony, as many as 723 students from UTB’s various colleges received their graduation certificates.

Top achieving graduates were honoured. UTB is among the leading universities in the region in the field of technology and innovation. Since its establishment, UTB has sought to provide a distinguished educational environment, in addition to professional development opportunities for students.

It has been committed to keeping pace with the highest quality standards, ensuring that it ranks at the forefront among higher education institutions locally and internationally.

Al Rayes appreciated the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to education in the kingdom.

He also expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to HH Shaikh Khalid for his patronage of the ceremony, and unlimited support for UTB to achieve its solidate the kingdom’s status as a pioneering regional centre for developing talent. Al Rayes also congratulated the graduates, wishing them a successful professional career.

The UTB President, in his speech, expressed pride in the graduation of students who, he said, will contribute to building the nation. He added that the graduation ceremony is held on the occasion of the kingdom’s celebrations of its national days, affirming loyalty to the kingdom, under HM King Hamad’s leadership.
