Bahrain joins world today in celebrating International Youth Day

Bahrain is joining the world today in celebrating the 2021 International Youth Day with high hopes for the Kingdom’s youngsters to enhance their contributions in nation-building, prosperity and for a bright future.

The United Nations marks the event every year on August 12, with this year’s theme “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health.” On this day, governments and citizens across the world come together to recognise and bring attention to the problems faced by the youth.

In Bahrain, top senior officials have expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their strong support to the youth.

True national wealth

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, affirmed that His Majesty has always believed in the capabilities of Bahraini youth and made them an integral part of his ideology and approach.

HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the royal leadership’s philosophy to invest in the youth as the true national wealth. He affirmed that the Kingdom implements many initiatives and strategies that enable young people to take their true position as partners for progress and leaders of the future.

HH Shaikh Nasser lauded HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for implementing the directives of His Majesty the King to make the Bahraini youth among the government’s priorities.

Deep pride

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh emphasised deep pride in the achievements accomplished by the Bahraini youth in various fields in a way that reflects HM the King’s vision and aspirations. The Shura Council has stated that Bahraini youth’s innovations and initiatives are among the important tributaries of the progress and prosperity process, currently witnessed by the kingdom under His Majesty King Hamad’s comprehensive development march.

The Council expressed deep pride in the great status enjoyed by the Bahraini youth, thanks to the unwavering support of HM the King, making them essential partners in implementing the development programmes across various fields.

Accomplishments

Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal lauded the royal support from HM the King that has made youth innovations, creativity and excellence a solid and genuine approach to achieving development and civilisational accomplishments. The Speaker praised the efforts of the government headed by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and its supportive projects and programmes for Bahraini youth.

She highlighted the support in the areas of food security and youth innovations, and in harnessing all possibilities for optimal investment in promising youth energies and competencies and motivating them to contribute actively to building the nation and its progress.
