TDT | Manama

Freediving exhibitions are taking place during the Eid Al Adha holidays at the first cylindrical aquarium in the GCC. Located at Mall of Dilmunia in Galali, the Bahrain Aquarium is organising these shows until tomorrow. They will be taking place from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and from 6pm to 8pm, according to the mall’s social media posts.

The freediving exhibitions are a part of a series of activities during Eid, being held as a preview of Mall of Dilmunia. The shows, which are free of charge, can be visible from the ground and first floors of the mall. The Bahrain Aquarium features a depth of 17 metres and a diametre of seven metres, and it can contain 700,000 litres of saltwater.

The impressive facility will showcase over 2,500 different species of aquatic creatures and provide an opportunity for people to marvel at the vast oceanic life on hand. When fully operational, the Bahrain Aquarium plans to organise educational tours and classes, in an effort to raise community awareness about the delicate marine life and ecosystem that flourishes in the waters surrounding Bahrain.

Children’s workshops and interactive educational classes will provide the opportunity for youngsters to learn about marine life and what they can do to help preserve and protect the underwater ecosystem. Other happenings during Eid Al Adha at Mall of Dilmunia include ice skating performances, street food pop-ups, and a superheroes display and competition.
