New school, university to become a reality soon

Preparations are progressing fast to open Her Highness Shaikha Mooza Comprehensive Girls’ School and the American University of Bahrain. Inauguration of Her Highness Shaikha Mooza Comprehensive Girls’ School, comprising primary, intermediate and secondary sections will be held during the academic year 2019-2022.

The school will serve 1,500 schoolgirls from Khalifa Town, Jau, Askar and nearby areas in addition to administrative, educational and technical staff members. Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Education and Training Development, revealed this during a visit to the school. Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi briefed Shaikh Mohammed about the first Allin-One governmental school in Bahrain.

His Highness also visited the American University of Bahrain where preparations are ongoing to inaugurate it in September. Education Minister Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, President of the Higher Education Council, and the relevant ministry officials accompanied His Highness. His Highness affirmed that the university comes in harmony with the government’s policy of encouraging investment in the higher education sector.
